DECEMBER 2021 IN WEST JEFFERSON

New equipment, new paths, and Christmas lights! Garrette Park is a Winter Wonderland!

Although the new equipment and structures have been delayed, they are all nearing completion. The new inclusive playground, park shelter, dog waste stations, drinking fountains, pathways and sidewalks are all wonderful improvements to our community.

Mayors Message

Sunshine and blue skies are out my window today, but it is chilly and soon will be downright cold. Most of the leaves have fallen, and we’ve already seen a few snowflakes. December means winter is here! December also means it is time for the annual Christmas in the Park. This year I am grateful to be able to enjoy the parade, the great hot chocolate and time with friends and neighbors, in addition to the beautiful lights. And, I am going to try out some of our new

equipment!

I am so proud and excited for our Roughrider Football team! A perfect season so far, and still going strong. No matter what happens next week, we have had an incredible season.

2021 has brought new challenges, some harder than others. We have all been inconvenienced and frustrated with supply chain issues, curtailed hours or services and other difficulties. Many people have had to overcome serious Covid side effects, and others are missing loved ones. Our children and their parents have had to be incredibly flexible and resilient as schools have had to modify how things are done. But everyone is persevering and moving forward. As this year draws to a close, I find myself being more aware of how wonderful it is to live here in this wonderful Village with great neighbors who care and work so hard to make this a great place to live.

Have a great month!
