March Mayor's Message

Have you noticed all the signs of spring? One of my favorites is being able to walk to work in the morning in the sunshine! Granted, there are lots of rainy days yet, but its still pretty great to leave my big winter coat at home.

Another sign of spring is construction projects starting up again. This year we will be getting a new pedestrian crosswalk across US 40 by the post office, and doing two paving projects. One will be on Blendon Road between Parkdale and Kirkwood. The other will be along West Jefferson-Kiousville Road from Lilly Chapel Road to the corporation limits, just past the high school. We recently secured the bids on these projects, so we are still working on the timing. Of course, all residents on these streets will be notified, and kept updated throughout the work process.

Our first big activity of the year is the Annual Village Egg Hunt. I have it on good authority that the Easter Bunny will be there, and he sure loves to take pictures with the kids! We have increased our egg count this year, and will have about 12,000 eggs for the kids, along with lots of other wonderful things to do for the whole family. Be sure to be at Converse Park on Saturday, March 30th for all the fun. If you would like to volunteer an hour or two to hide eggs, we will be starting set-up at 8am to be ready for the gates to open at 10am, and all the hunts get started at 11am.

Have a great month, and I will see you around the Village!
