Congratulations to all the graduates of 2023! I have the opportunity each year to provide lunch to the 5th grade graduates during their park day at the end of the school year. This year we got to be at the newly renovated Westwood Park, and it was a great experience. The kids were having a great time, especially on the new obstacle course, and at the basketball courts. A couple weeks before that, the WJ HS Football team spent a long morning at all the parks, planting flowers, mulching, and moving gravel. Every single one of those kids worked hard, and did a great job. I am really proud of this next, great generation.
I am also proud of all the great things we are able to offer this community. We have first-class parks, a great program that is repaving and renovating the streets and sidewalks, and wonderful summertime activities for the whole community. We try to have events that the whole family can enjoy, but we are always interested in new ideas. If you have a good one, give me a call, and we can chat!

All Village Council and Committee meetings and Planning Commission meetings will be held at the Community Center until further notice.
Village Council
Meetings on Monday, June 5, and Monday, June 19, at the Community Center at 7pm. Westjeffersonohio.gov/villagecouncil
Jefferson Township Board of Trustees
Meetings on June 14 and June 28 at 6:30pm in Township Hall, 225 Cemetery Rd., WJ.
WJ Board of Education
The monthly board meeting is June 13 at 7pm in the High School Auditeria.

Water Bills are due on or before Thursday, June 15.
Parks and Recreation

Free movie night at the Community Center June 24 @ 7pm, Top Gun: Maverick
Lunch and Learn every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Community Center, all kids and their caregivers.
Pool open daily from noon-8pm starting May 29.
