Shred It Day

Dear Resident,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, including changes inspired by

Covid, price increases and having to change vendors, Village shredding day will be later this year, on Saturday, July 23, 2022. This event will be held in the parking lot of tire Community Center at 230 Cemetery Rd. from 9AM-Noon. There will be an onsite shredding truck, and you will be able to watch your items being shredded. This service is for resident’s personal records, and not for businesses.

Beginning in May, we will have a locked collection bin from Ohio Mobile Shredding that will be available during business hours. These bins will be picked up quarterly and tire Village will get a letter of certification after the contents are shredded. Residents can request a copy of tills certification, if desired. Residents can also bring up to 25 pages per shred to the Water or Tax departments during normal business hours and we will be happy to shred them in your sight. Larger shredding amounts can also be scheduled to be shred at the Water Department by calling the Water Department main line, (614) 879-8655, opt. 1.

Please be patient as we work through this new process. This free service is available to all residents for personal shredding needs, but we may have to limit tire amount we accept at one time. This also is not a service for business records.

If you have a need for a large amount of shredding, more than two boxes, or about 60 lbs. of shredding, please call the Water Department with your request. We can schedule additional bins for out next quarterly pick-up, if we know at least two weeks in advance. Pick-ups are scheduled on or near the fourth Thursday in May, August, November, and February.

Please be aware that most shredding vendors have transitioned to die locked bin system, and away from onsite shredding. The Village is working to continue to offer on-site yearly Shred-it Days, but may not be able to continue to do so in die future, which is why we have tried to find other solutions to serve Village residents. We encourage you to try out these new options, rather than saving all your documents for the yearly purge. We appreciate your understanding.
