Mayors Message
Earlier this spring, I had the opportunity to meet and talk to Brandon Gargac, who organized the installation of a flag drop box at Veterans Park for the proper disposal of flags as his Eagle Scout project.
I was also privileged to swear in a new auxiliary police officer, Officer Tyler Robinson. These are just two examples of the wonderful young men and women of our community that inspire me every day.
This summer, many of our youth will be working as lifeguards at the pool, serving meals at our restaurants and cutting miles and miles of grass. Some will volunteer their time to help out the younger crowd at Lunch and Learn, or at the library. Many others will be out running and conditioning for sports. To help with that conditioning, and just for good fun, one of our new playground areas at Westwood Park is going to focus on ages 13 and up, and we will have a small disc golf course as well.
We value our youth, and applaud their many accomplishments. Be sure to congratulate the graduates in our community this month!
